The bike-flash is permanently installed as a warning device at intersections and uses a state-of-the-art thermal sensor camera to permanently monitor a detection zone that can be set up to four meters wide and up to 40 meters deep as required in order to warn motorists of a collision with a cyclist. In particular, the dangerous right/left turn situations in which drivers overlook cyclists or pedestrians in the blind spot can be prevented. As with the well-known and proven speed displays, we also rely on the effective visual effect of immediately raising the awareness of road users.

If a cyclist, e-scooter driver or pedestrian is detected in the thermal image, the two dialog displays are activated: one for the truck/car driver and one for the cyclist, etc. These light up during the entire turning process and warn of the risk of a collision.

The following four images show the positioning of the bike-flash . Ideally, the installation point of the mast separates the respective vehicle/car and cycle lanes. This ensures that both parties are clearly alerted to the blind spot by the dialog display and have a constant view of each other and the hazard.

What's new at bike-flash?

The latest technology will not only control displays, but in the near future:

Display installed bike-flash systems on navigation systems and thus announce possible danger spots.
Provide supportive signals to the turning assistants installed in trucks.
Preventively display or report danger spots using the app.
The new bike-flash has also been technically and functionally upgraded. Thanks to state-of-the-art camera technology and simple plug & play installation, the bike-flash can be used quickly and easily anywhere. Self-sufficient operation is also possible thanks to the optionally available solar module.
